El Estado turco ha condenado de facto a sus ciudadanos de las provincias kurdas a morir de hambre y sed bajo los toques de queda que se está prolongando varias semanas en Sur, Silvan, Nusaybin, Cizre, Silopi y otros muchos lugares. Asimismo está empleando contra la población armas pesadas propias de una guerra. Como consecuencia, se están violando los derechos a la vida, la libertad y la seguridad, y en especial la prohibición de la tortura y el maltrato protegidos por la Constitución y el derecho internacional. El asesinato sistemático y deliberado es una grave violación de la legislación turca así como de los tratados internacionales ratificados por Turquía. Estas acciones son una clara violación de la legislación internacional. Exigimos al Estado que ponga fin inmediatamente a las deportaciones y masacres que está llevando a cabo contra los kurdos y kurdas y la población de la región. También exigimos al Estado que ponga fin a los toques de queda, que identifique y castigue a los responsables de violaciones de derechos humanos y que resarza los daños materiales y morales de las víctimas. Para ello, exigimos que se permita el acceso a observadores nacionales e internacionales independientes a las zonas damnificadas, para que puedan supervisar e informar de los daños. También demandamos el restablecimiento de condiciones que permitan la negociación y de una hoja de ruta para lograr una paz duradera, incluyendo las demandas del movimiento político kurdo. Exigimos la presencia observadores independientes, formado por diferentes sectores de la sociedad civil, y nos ponemos a su disposición para participar como tales. Nos oponemos a la supresión de cualquier tipo de oposición. Nosotros y nosotras, como académicos e investigadores de este país, alzamos la voz porque no vamos a ser cómplices de esta masacre y exigimos el final inmediato de la violencia perpetrada por el estado. Nos comprometemos a buscar apoyos de partidos, del parlamento y de la opinión pública internacional hasta que se cumplan nuestras demandas.
