El 1 de octubre, Franco convoc&oacute; a las masas por &uacute;ltima vez en la plaza de Oriente, y creo que esa misma ma&ntilde;ana asesinaron en Madrid a tres polic&iacute;as. Dos o tres d&iacute;as m&aacute;s tarde, me recuerdo caminando por un Madrid luminoso y casi desierto por la festividad y por el miedo. Me parece que en esas fechas hab&iacute;an cerrado Triunfo, que es la revista que yo le&iacute;a puntualmente entonces. Ahora mismo se me viene a la memoria que unos meses antes Fraga hab&iacute;a dicho desde Londres algo as&iacute; como que hab&iacute;a que enfrentarse a una realidad intermedia entre los extremos de Fuerza Nueva y de Triunfo. Y lo recuerdo porque aquel domingo, no s&eacute; si llevados por la morbosidad o inspirados por la providencia, una amiga y yo decidimos comprarnos Fuerza Nueva. La le&iacute;mos clandestinamente y en clave de humor negro y, cuando nos despedimos, yo me fui hacia casa con la revista enrollada en la mano.</p>\r\n<p>[&hellip;]</p>\r\n<p>Al llegar a la altura de Francisco Silvela, vi bajar por la avenida de Am&eacute;rica el cortijo f&uacute;nebre de dos de los polic&iacute;as asesinados d&iacute;as atr&aacute;s.</p>\r\n<p>Abriendo la marcha, una confusa muchedumbre ven&iacute;a cantando el Cara al sol y gratando consignas. Fascinado por la violencia, me detuve a mirar en la acera. Una mujer con camisa y boina falangistas se descolg&oacute; del grupo y se encar&oacute; con los curiosos. Nos reprochaba, al parecer, nuestra pasividad. Pero de pronto la ira de la mujer se concentr&oacute; en un joven con barba situado a mi lado. &ldquo;&iquest;Y t&uacute; por qu&eacute; no cantas, cabr&oacute;n barbudo?&rdquo;, le arguy&oacute; muy cerca de la cara. Luego todo fue muy r&aacute;pido. Media docena de tipos atl&eacute;ticos que ven&iacute;an detr&aacute;s con la mano alzada hicieron causa con la mujer y, sin preguntar, se lanzaron sobre el joven. En la confusi&oacute;n de los golpes y de las blasfemias, alguien me se&ntilde;al&oacute; y grit&oacute;: &ldquo;&Eacute;se iba con el barbas!&rdquo;. En un instante me inmovilizaron los brazos y las piernas, me tumbaron en el suelo y, antes del primer golpe, uno dijo: &ldquo;Vamos a ver qu&eacute; lee este hijo de puta&rdquo;.</p>\r\n<p>Todav&iacute;a ahora sigo pensando que aquella revista ten&iacute;a que haber sido Triunfo, y que s&oacute;lo una casualidad apenas veros&iacute;mil hizo posible una escena a&uacute;n m&aacute;s estrafalaria. Mientras me abrazaban y me llamaban camarada, interced&iacute; por el joven de la barba. &ldquo;&Eacute;se es de los nuestros&rdquo;, les dije.
