La historia se alimenta de hechos y la memoria de recuerdos. La memoria es selectiva, y la historia, tambi&eacute;n. Por lo tanto, el olvido es una circunstancia com&uacute;n en la narraci&oacute;n de los hechos y en la construcci&oacute;n de la imagen del pasado. Pero cuando los hechos se imponen por las armas, los vencedores imponen tambi&eacute;n su historia y condenan al olvido la memoria de los vencidos. Por eso, para reconstruir la historia, es necesario contrastar el relato de los vencedores con la memoria de los vencidos. Tras la Guerra Civil, los vencedores escribieron su historia y honraron a sus muertos, pero los vencidos no pudieron hacer lo mismo, y sus hijos, tampoco. En los &uacute;ltimos a&ntilde;os, se han rescatado testimonios y se han sacado a la luz hechos que clamaban desde el fondo de una historia terrible, pero todav&iacute;a hay muertos sin identificar en demasiadas fosas. Muchas familias sufrieron esa amargura durante 40 a&ntilde;os de franquismo y en la Transici&oacute;n siguieron guardando en su memoria la reivindicaci&oacute;n de sus muertos, por temor a las consecuencias de reabrir esa herida. La generaci&oacute;n de la Transici&oacute;n no pudo saldar esa deuda con el pasado. La Transici&oacute;n espa&ntilde;ola pas&oacute; de puntillas sobre los rescoldos de aquel horror y la memoria de los vencidos sigui&oacute; llevando su luto por dentro.
