Corría la década del ’90 y en las aulas y en los pasillos de las diversas facultades, en los bares aledaños, en lasasambleas universitarias, en las lecturas obligatorias de cátedra, en la prensa escrita, en los noticiarios de televisión y en boca dela clase política comenzaba a circular con profusión esta noción, con la que se reinterpretaba el pasado, se discutía el presente y seimaginaba un futuro nuevo y esperanzador. La presente investigación esta transversalizada por incalculables literaturas de estosautores, muchas leídas con prolijidad, algunas de reojo y otras apenas intuidas; todas sin embargo, orientadas a realizar unagenealogía del proceso de construcción teórico y conceptual de la noción Transición a la Democracia y tratando de dilucidar lahistoria a través de la cual se empoderaron nuevos términos y cayeron en desuso otros. Elanálisis se centra, entonces, en las definiciones que acerca de la institución militar y su relación con el Estado, la nación, la políticay la sociedad hacen las propias fuerzas armadas. Esto conduce a la necesidad de indagar la construcción de una identidad definidaen términos institucionales -la identidad militar en sus similitudes y diferencias entre las ramas castrenses- y rastrear lasconexiones a través de las cuales dicho discurso logra generar una lógica según la cual las fuerzas armadas se convierten en unelemento central de la vida nacional. Dentro de este gran tema mi interés inicial fue analizar la desarticulaciónde las organizaciones revolucionarias desde el punto de vista de su dinámica interna. En realidad, quería investigar las causas dedispersión de estos grupos, considerando por ejemplo, sus modos de organización interna y las relaciones entre los militantes. Deesta manera, se podía llegar a entender la desarticulación de los grupos rebeldes sin recurrir tanto al fundamento de la existenciade una política de Estado contrainsurgente. Creo que aunque absolutamente verídica esta situación, su continuo recurso paraexplicar este problema, impide una revisión más crítica al respecto.
